Coastal Ocean Observing in OPAL
Hydrographic and biochemical data collection in the coastal Gulf of Maine region has been central to much of OPAL's work through the years. This has included shipboard and moored sampling programs with much support from graduate students interested in fieldwork. Recently, the lab has been an active partner within national Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS) efforts. We have also been a leader in establishing a long-term coastal monitoring network for ocean carbon dioxide and pH.
Ocean Data Access
Several teams within OPAL are active in maintaining ocean observing stations that support both regional and global applications. Links below should provide access to data and supporting information for a range of platforms supported by the lab. Please contact us with any difficulties or questions.
